Keurig K575 Coffee Maker Review

July 24, 2020

For a quick hit of coffee, you just can’t deny the convenience of Keurig single-serve coffee makers.

This time Keurig brings its new 2.0 K575 coffee maker to the table with all the latest features and upgraded functionalities that hit the market by storm.

Just like other Keurig models, this K575 also requires little work to make you a perfect cup of java.

But what makes it different than other 2.0 models?

I spent enough time testing every single aspect of this coffee maker and here I’ve shared all the findings and insights to give you a bottom line whether or not this is the right choice for your kitchen.

Let’s explore all the bells and whistles…

This latest Keurig K575 keeps the same curves and touches that we noticed in the previous Keurig 2.0 models, especially K475. It’s still a bit bulkier, though, it’s more refined – and bigger in everything.

Keurig K575 has the biggest water tank on any Keurig 2.0 models holding an 80oz huge reservoir capacity meaning fewer chances for a spill and more capacity of H₂O.

Although the water reservoir is fully removable, you can also pour the water through the lid because it’s hinged and stays open by itself. This means, you no longer need to remove the entire lid or water reservoir for refilling every time.

The water reservoir including other external components is made up of BPA-free plastic. However, the internal tank is stainless steel with a 16oz capacity.

An in-built nightlight is a bonus with a choice of 5 different colors that shines through the reservoir, making it convenient to brew a late-night coffee without blaring out the bright kitchen light.

Control Panel

This higher-end machine comes with an extra-large LED touchscreen that’s nice and responsive. It offers all the programmable options that allow you to customize and brew a cup of coffee that satisfies the roof of your mouth.

Brewing your cup of joe is child’s play, just pop your favorite capsule in and press the big “Keurig 2.0” button. In my test, it takes around 50 seconds to brew a single cup of coffee.

Brew Sizes

Use this option to adjust your desired cup, mug, or carafe size.

Hot Water on Demand

There’s also a feature to dispense hot water on demand that doesn’t require you to stand there and hold down the button. Perfect for effortlessly making Americano, tea, soups, noodles, hot chocolate, and other beverages.

Strength Control

This allows you to control your brew strength to bolder or mild coffee without messing your version of perfection.

Temperature Control

With 5 variable temperature settings, it’s easier to control the heat to anything from warm to piping hot just the way you like.

Programmable Clock

Use this option to select and program your desired clock setting (analog or digital). I’d prefer using a digital style clock as it’s easier to read from the distance and simpler to adjust the auto on and off settings.

Auto On and Off (Energy Saving Mode)

This programmable feature is awesome for getting the coffee when you want. Ideal for waking cup on a freshly brewed cup of coffee without waiting or when you return from work.

Auto Brew

If you set the machine to auto on at a specific time and leaves a K-Carafe pod inside, it will auto brew you.

Keurig K575 Coffee Maker, Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Brewer

Brew Sizes

To completely satisfy all the brewing demands, Keurig K575 offers the most brewing sizes including travel mugs and full carafe. Thanks to its smart scanner that figures out automatically which serving and flavor you’re trying to brew.

Use K-Cup pods to unlock all the cup sizes of your need (4oz, 6oz, 8oz, 10oz, and 12oz).

Use K-Mug pods to fill in your large thermoses or travel mugs without tilting and overflowing.

Use K-Carafe pods to prepare 4 to 5 cups of coffee in one round, enough for the family members or while having guests to your home.

It’s no exaggeration, K-cup pods are cheaper as compared to how much money you’d spend on coffee every year. If it’s still adding up an extra cost to your wallet, you can use Keurig My K-Cup Universal Coffee Filter. It’s a budget-saving item by Keurig that facilitates you for brewing coffee using your coffee grounds.

Pro Tip: I’d recommend using K-Carafe Reusable Coffee Filter just in case you need more coffee. There’s no con to this filter, instead, it can save you thousands of dollars every year.

What we don’t like

Here are the cons of using this latest Keurig coffee maker:

The majority of the customer’s complaint about its noisy brewing experience and I suspect that’s the reason, Keurig’s newly launched model K-Elite touts “Quiet Brew Technology” as a key feature.

You’re limited to use only Keurig branded capsules, in case you choose to go with capsules and they are pretty much expensive, cost around 70c per capsule. Unlike other models, Keurig 2.0 has an in-built sensor that prevents you from using any other brand capsules.

Keurig Hack: Performing a simple hack can help you overcome the company’s restriction. In involves scotch tape and scissors and takes less than a minute to win the battle.

the Keurig sensor reads the code on the label. We just trick the machine into thinking that it’s brewing a Keurig compatible pod.

  1. Once you’ve used a Keurig capsule, cut off the pod’s top and then slice off the strip that makes the contact with the sensor.
  2. Place a piece of tape on it (sticky side up).

Once you’ll close the lid, the paper will stick to the reader/sensor. It will now think of any capsule as Keurig branded capsule and should seamlessly work with any coffee pod.

Please Note: Keurig doesn’t recommend this way of using the machine, so if you choose to go this way, do it at your own risk, and if anything goes wrong, the mishap won’t be covered by your warranty.

What’s the bottom line?

All in all, this machine is a perfect fit for anyone who is looking for great tasting coffee that’s easy to make with no mess or fuss.

You just can’t go wrong with Keurig K575, it gives you full control over your brewing experience without jumping over the basic knowledge.

It entertains you with its lightning-fast speed, especially in making an entire pot of coffee. There’s no messing between cups, it’s perfect for anyone with a family of java lovers who regularly entertain soul-touching caffeine jolt.
